See plansDeterminedAI's free tools cover the most common questions that hit a VAT or GST compliance team between formal filing periods: where am I exposed?, is this customer's VAT number real?, what rate applies?, when is the return due?, and how do I keep on top of every deadline across the year? Each tool is a focused utility — no signup, no paywall, no pretending you need an enterprise platform when you just need the right answer.
The dataset behind these tools — 153 jurisdictions worth of rates, deadlines, registration thresholds, e-invoicing mandates, and tax-ID formats — is the same one that powers the paid DeterminedAI platform. We surface it free because (a) most VAT questions deserve a free answer, and (b) it's the easiest way to show finance teams how the platform thinks about determination, exposure, and filing without a sales call.
Yes. All five tools — VAT exposure dashboard, tax ID validator, worldwide rate chart, filing deadlines lookup, and custom filing calendar with email reminders — are free to use with no account required.
We rate-limit only at the IP level to prevent abuse. The full DeterminedAI platform (with API access, ERP integrations, automated filing, and managed registrations) is a separate paid product, but the free tools stay free forever.
No. None of the free tools require an account. The filing calendar and exposure dashboard generate a private URL you can bookmark to come back later; the validator, rate chart, and deadlines lookup are stateless.
If you give us your email for filing-deadline reminders we use it only to send those reminders.
Start with the Exposure Dashboard. Upload your transactions or sync Stripe and you'll see every country where you've crossed a registration threshold — that tells you what to register for, in what order.
From there, use the Filing Deadlines Lookup to plan your calendar, and the Tax ID Validator to clean up your customer base for reverse-charge B2B sales. The Filing Calendar ties it all together with email reminders.
The rate chart, deadlines lookup, and e-invoicing tracker are pure reference — you give us nothing.
The validator hits public registries (VIES, HMRC, Brønnøysund) — we log the request for rate-limiting but don't store the VAT numbers. The exposure dashboard stores your uploaded transactions only if you choose to save the run with an email; otherwise it runs in-browser. The filing calendar only stores items you explicitly save under the URL we generate.
Avalara and Vertex are full enterprise compliance platforms that bundle determination, filing, and registration behind paid contracts. The free tools above are utilities — they answer specific questions (does this VAT number validate, when's my Italian return due, which countries should I register in) without forcing you into a platform decision.
If you eventually need full automation, DeterminedAI's paid platform competes directly with Avalara and Vertex; if you just need the right answer to a tax question, use the free tools.
